Product Description

For convenience, versatility, and nutrition, choose the brand of canned spinach with Popeye the Sailor Man on the label. Popeye Canned Spinach tastes great and is a real timesaver because you don’t have to thaw it to use it. The next time a recipe calls for frozen spinach, substitute Popeye Canned Spinach instead.

I have ordered this twice and both shipments were very good in quality to me. I do not know why others do not think so, but I have no complaints at all. The spinach was delicious, and of good quality in my opinion. I am going to get some more before it is out of stock.

It doesn't have a fresh spinach taste.. The best way to describe it is if you were to take a bunch of spinach, boil it for awhile into a soggy clump of leaves, and then to infuse it with a metallic canned flavor. On its own, it made me gag. Mixing it with lentils and a lot of other spices, I was able to get it down. It still was many times worse than I thought it could be.

I'm sticking with fresh from the grocery store for now on.

The leaves just weren't up there with maple leaves and lacked the texture of lettuce. I'm left with a green soggy mess and it's just not satisfactory. Better than carrots though.
